The Christopher Gadsden Wells Memorial Scholarship has been organized to provide funding for interested music students who wish to study at the Columbia Arts Academy. Beginning March 2013 the scholarship will be offered to two students annually who exhibit a unique dedication to and love of music. During the selection process, consideration will be given to the applicant’s financial need.

The scholarship seeks to honor and memorialize the life of Christopher Wells, who died on September 28, 2012 at the age of 19. Christopher attended the Columbia Arts Academy and studied both the drums and the guitar. While he excelled at the guitar, he had an appreciation for all kinds of music. He loved to sing, was a self-taught pianist, and never missed an opportunity to pursue his passion.

Beyond his musical interests, to those who knew him, Christopher will be most remembered for his kind spirit. He was a loyal friend with a warm heart. Interested students should contact the Columbia Arts Academy office at, (803)787-0931 for an application. The application deadline for lessons beginning in March 2013 is January 31, 2013.
