Jim Clyburn’s annual World Famous Fish Fry will be held this year on Friday, May 3rd, from 7:30 PM-Midnight at the Carolina Field House, 941 S. Stadium Road, Columbia, with special guest Vice President Joe Biden. This year’s event will celebrate Clyburn’s 20 years of service in Congress.

“I began this event more than two decades ago to thank South Carolina Democrats who worked so hard to elect me to Congress in 1992. It is only fitting that this year’s fish fry will honor the supporters that enabled me to reach the milestone of 20 years of representing them in Washington,” Clyburn said. “The crowd will be bigger and I will have the special honor of sharing the stage with my good friend Joe Biden, but the event is being held with the same sense of gratitude as that first fish fry held in the parking lot of my campaign headquarters so many years ago.”

The Vice President is no stranger to the Clyburn fish fry. He attended the event in 2007.

The fish fry is held every year on the night of the South Carolina Jefferson-Jackson Dinner and it attracts thousands of Democratic grassroots workers and candidates for local, statewide and national office. The menu is fried whiting and white bread accompanied by hot music and cold beverages. The uniqueness of the event prompted columnist Roger Simon to call it,“one of those all-too-rare, feel-good evenings in politics.”
