This intimate event will take place at the M L Smith Community Center, St. Luke Baptist Church in Columbia, South Carolina with family members presenting gifts and remarks from several people from her past.

Lillian Jones Dennis was born on February 2, 1913 to John and Martha Jones in Fort Motte, South Carolina on the Bellville Plantation, she also was the granddaughter of Syke and Leah Green Bryant. Lillian was the 3rd of six siblings. Three of her brothers and one sister are now deceased.

Lillian met and married the love of her life Zack Dennis in April 1944. Lillian and her late husband Zack, were local business owners for twenty five plus years in Columbia. She has one son, Thomas and a daughter-in-law, Elnora. In addition, she has six grandchildren (two of her grandsons are deceased), six great- grandchildren, three great-great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and close friends.

Lillian Dennis lives by Proverbs 3:5-6 that says: Trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thine own understanding, In all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct thy path.

When asked what the key to her longevity is, her response is to "Give God the Glory and only do that which is pleasing to him", eat right and get lots of rest.

Her main hobby remains constant over the years; her love for fishing, cooking and baking. Until she had mobility limitations she also enjoyed working in her garden where she grew canned and cooked her own vegetables. She is a long time member of the Greater St Luke Baptist Church.
