The Poinsettia Cotillion Inc. introduced ten young ladies on Wednesday, December 28, 2011. The event was held in the Ballroom of the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. The debutantes’ presentation was witnessed by both family and friends who gathered to honor and pay tribute to these young ladies as they continue to develop and make their entrances into society. This year’s presentation included:

Miss Katheryne Ann Olean Slack, daughter of Mr. David W. Slack and Ms. Annette P. Bethel. Her escort for the evening was Mr. Andrew David O. Slack. Her lady-in-waiting was Miss Darien Alexandria Dean and her marshal, Mr. Robert H. Austin.

Miss Taylor Danielle Harriford Platt, daughter of Ms. Wendy Harriford-Platt and Mr. Carl Vincent Platt. Her escort for the evening was Mr. Derek Dwayne Miller, Jr. Her lady-in-waiting was Miss Lauren Alexandra Harriford and her marshal, Mr. Karl Jordan Platt.

Miss Olivia June Bell, daughter of Drs. Myron and Linda Bell. Her escort for the evening was Mr. Donovan Westin Waddell. Her lady-in-waiting was Miss Caitlin Mary Anissa Johnson and her marshal, Mr. Jared Alexander Blake.

The 2011 Poinsettia Cotillion Inc. celebrated its fourteenth season since its establishment in 1980 by Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Manigault Hurley. Mr. Kenzil and Mrs. Alison Lee Summey serve as co-presidents. This year’s co-chairpersons were Mr. Wendell and Mrs. Loretta Price.

The Master and Mistress of ceremonies were Mr. Tony Jamison and Ms. Beryl Dakers. The evening’s toastmaster was Dr. Jackie Epps and a tribute was given by Mrs. Katherine Davis.
